Design
Determine the type of sauna:
Finnish sauna (dry): Uses dry hot air.
Steam bath: Creates a humid and warm environment.
Electric or wood stove: Choose a heat source.
Size and layout:
Determine the available space and dimensions of the sauna.
Define the number of people who will use it at the same time.
Construction materials:
Use moisture-resistant wood, such as pine or cypress.
Ensure good insulation to retain heat.
Ventilation:
Provide air ducts to ensure air circulation and moisture removal.
Construction
Foundations:
Build a stable and flat base. We can use cement or wooden beams.
Walls and ceiling:
We build the walls with the selected materials and make sure they are well insulated.
The ceiling should be slightly sloped to remove moisture droplets.
Floor:
The floor can be wooden or made of a special durable material. The main thing, however, is that it has good drainage.
Radiator:
We install the stove (electric or wood stove) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. We take care of safety and distance from flammable materials.
Seats:
We create flat wooden seats so that users can choose the temperature.
Lighting:
We install lighting suitable for saunas, such as special lamps that withstand heat and moisture.
Door:
Use a door made of wood or heat-resistant glass, with good insulation.
Provisions
Safety:
We check that the electrical installations are safe and meet the specifications.
We install smoke and heat detectors.
Maintenance:
We take care of the regular maintenance of the sauna to keep it in good condition.
Water and hygiene:
We provide for water, either through a shower or through other facilities (for cleaning the space) and we take care of the cleanliness of the space.
